It’s called the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver because you advance your diving knowledge and skills.
Exploration, Emotion, Experiences
Once you have earned your open water diver certification, you are ready to take the advanced open water course. The Advanced class provides an excellent opportunity to expand your diving skills under professional and experienced supervision. We believe that all divers should take this class as a continuation of the Open Water class. Don’t think you need to be an experienced diver to take this class.
The class features two main dives: the deep dive and the navigation dive. Additionally, you must complete three elective dives which may include a wreck, peak performance buoyancy, underwater naturalist, or night dive.

Minimum age is 12 years. Students under the age of 15 will receive a Jr. Advanced Diver Certification that can be updated once they are 15 years old.
Those under the age of 18 need the approval and signature of a parent or guardian.
This class can start any Day. We start with the maximum performance buoyancy and navigation dives, as they are shallow and are a great way to acclimatize to diving. The remaining three dives take place over two days and can be done most days of the week and on weekends.
